“In Absentia Lucis” is the third full length album by Blackened Sludge / Noise band LaColpa, and it will be released on December 19th, 2024 on digital and a special slipcase CD edition containing a 12-page booklet.

Four years exactly after their sophomore album “Post Tenebras Lux”, which was released to critical acclaim back in 2020, LaColpa are back with their highly anticipated third release.

“In Absentia Lucis” is titanically heavy and viscerally powerful, capable of channeling both oppression and aggression into an abysmal vortex of negativity and pain.
A pitch-black magma of suffering in music, combining Sludge, Doom and Dissonant Black Metal with some of the most painful soundscapes of improvisational Noise and Drone.

Thematically, this new chapter in the band discography continues to outline LaColpa’s philosophy of pain, deeply rooted in the human condition of eternal suffering.
After having explored themes like guilt, awareness of own mortality and the condition of pain which inevitably grips our existence, “In Absentia Lucis” closes the circle by bringing back the reflection on our own condition of impotence.
